How to Get rid of Menstrual Pain with Natural Cures
Although pain during menstrual cycle is a natural part of a woman’s life, but sometimes it becomes so severe and intense that it even interferes with routine activities of the woman. Surprisingly, some women never suffer from this pain during their life while some others have to face it every month. There are many reasons behind menstrual pain such as hormonal imbalance, family history or stress. Menstrual pain is mostly accompanied by headaches, migraines, cramps, nausea or back pain. When the pain becomes extreme it becomes intolerable for the woman.
Peppermint- It helps in relieving stomach pain as well as nausea caused due to menstruation. It can be taken in natural form or added to eatables so as to ease the discomfort caused due to menstrual cycle.
Aloe Vera- Drinking a glass of Aloe Vera or eating the gel of aloe Vera juice daily during periods helps in getting rid of menstrual cramps.
Rice- You can cure as well as prevent menstrual pains and cramps by eating rice before menstrual cycle. It helps in relieving bloating and pain associated with menstrual cycle.
Ginger- It helps in relieving pain effectively. Ginger can be taken in raw form or in the form of ginger tea. You can also add ginger to soups, vegetables, cakes or other eatables during cooking. During menstrual pain, you can boil crushed ginger root in a glass of water and drink it 3-4 times every day. It gives instant relief from pain.
Hot Water– It gives instant relief from menstrual pain. You can drink lukewarm water and ease abdominal pain. You can even place hot water bottle on your abdomen to get relief from pain.
Cold packs– Similar to hot water treatment, cold pack is also equally effective in some cases. So you can also try if it suits you. You can place ice packed in a zipped plastic bag covered by a towel on your abdomen. It will help in contraction of blood vessels and hence relief cramps.
Citrus Fruits- Eating citrus fruits such as lemons, guavas, pineapples and oranges in the form of snacks or in between meals also helps in reducing menstrual pain. Even juice of citrus fruits is equally effective.
Foods rich in Iron and Zinc- During menstrual cycles, a lot of zinc and iron is lost from the body along with blood. It is also one of the reasons behind menstrual pains as bones become weak due to deficiency of these elements. So it is advised to have foods rich in zinc and iron. Some of these foods are green leafy vegetables, cereals, nuts, fish, chicken, beef, mutton etc.
Papaya- You can reduce menstrual pain as well as other problems related to menstrual cycles by eating papaya in raw form regularly.
Exercise- Yoga, deep breathing, cardiovascular exercises or brisk morning walks help in getting rid of menstrual cramps easily.
